CONCERT POSTERS WANTED
(Collector Will Pay Big Bucks For Them.)
A message from Dan O'Day....
A good friend of mine is a big-time collector of concert posters.
I pointed out to him that lots of radio people around the world have old posters stored in attics and basements.
If you're one of those people, then your half-forgotten, dust-collecting memorabilia might be worth some serious cash to you.
What He's Looking For
- Concert posters from before 1970. (Usually these are made of cardboard.)
- Other concert memorabilia such as flyers, handbills and tickets — from before 1970
- Original & unusual autographs and signed items, such as signed LPs, contracts, programs, documents, etc. — from before 1970
- Record company promotional posters and displays — from before 1970
- Large lots of old music photographs — from before 1970
- LPs still sealed in their original shrink wrap — from before 1970
- Unusual test pressings, acetates or one-off pressings — from before 1970
- 78 rpm records of blues music
- All genres: rock, pop, R&B, jazz, blues, country, big band
- Any and all significant artists, ranging from the Beatles and Bob Dylan to Motown performers to Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday to Hank Williams to Muddy Waters and Howlin Wolf, and all artists in between
- Originals only (NOT reproductions)
What He Absolutely, Positively Does NOT Want
- (No) Tapes or CDs of any kind.
- (No) Anything from 1970 to today
- (No) Fillmore and Avalon posters and handbills
- (No) Store-sold ("head shop") posters
- (No) Movie posters
- (No) Reprints or reproductions of any kind
How Much Money Will He Pay You?
That depends upon whether, in the eyes of a collector, you've got "trash" or "treasure."
My friend has made purchases for $100. And he's made purchases for $10,000 to $20,000. (Yes, for a single poster.)
